Sony Xperia XZ1 is set to launch today in India


Sony will be launching its Xperia XZ1 series in India today. The series was introduced earlier this month during IFA 2017 conference in Berlin, Germany. While the series includes both the Xperia XZ1 and the XZ1 Compact, Sony could only launch its flagship Xperia XZ1 in India today.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 touts a 3D scanning mode that lets the device capture high-resolution 3D images of an object. The Xperia XZ1 offers 19MP Exmor RS sensor with the ability to shoot slow-motion video at 960 frames per second, predictive capture and 4K video recording. As for the front camera, the device has a 13MP sensor with a 22mm wide angle lens and an aperture of f/2.0 lens.
The Xperia XZ1 comes with a 5.2-inch full HD display protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by Snapdragon 835 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Users can also install microSD cards of up to 265GB for additional storage. Backed by a 2700mAh battery, the Xperia XZ1 runs latest Android 8.0 Oreo. The dual-sim handset offers 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, VoLTE, NFC as major connectivity options.
It comes in four colours: Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink, Warm Silver, and Black.
For now, there is no word as to when the company plans to launch the Xperia XZ1 Compact in India.
Back in IFA 2017 conference, Sony Xperia XZ1 and the XZ1 Compact were launched alongside the Xperia XA1 Plus. The XA1 Plus was launched in India last week carrying a price tag of Rs 24,990. It comes in Blue, Black and Gold colour options. Going by the price, the smartphone proves to be a competitor of Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro and Motorola Z2 Play.
According to Sony, the USP of the smartphone is said to be its 23MP rear camera and battery life, backed by a 3430mAh battery.
