It’s been almost a year since Motorola didn’t release any updates for the Moto X Pure Edition in the United States, not even the usual security patches that Google launches every month.

If you’ve been holding on to this particular smartphone in the hopes that Motorola will finally do the right thing, then you’re in luck. Apparently, many Moto X Pure Edition owners across the United States report they have successfully captured the long-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update.

Although Motorola didn’t even update the smartphone to Android 7.1.1, at least it included the September security patch, the latest security update released by Google.

The Moto X Pure Edition got updated to Android Nougat in other countries a few months ago, but users in the United States had to wait until now to be able to upgrade their phones.

Nougat is probably the last major Android OS update that the Moto X Pure Edition, also known as Moto X Style in other countries, will receive, so if you’re expecting to get some Oreo love, then you will have to switch to a newer device.
